There is a Patriotic magic of the combination of this song and their tap dance to it, can't put my finger on exactly what it is but would love to hear it and see it in person. Mesmerizing in a proud veteran way!

Both of my parents were military vets. I grew up listening to this song. This performance of the song is so beautiful. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch. Excellent job!

I have made fun of this song all my life: "A hundred men today will test – and none of them will be the best…." – that kinda stuff. I've gotten older.
Read about Gen. Colin Powell recently and saw some videos. Man looks like a college professor yet earned his jump wings and Ranger tab among other accomplishments: hard core.
Read about SSGT Barry Sadler this week and learned he was a Special Forces medic. When I was recalled from IRR for Desert Storm, they were recruiting for SF medics and I gave it some thought but didn't think I was made for it. I always respected Special Forces, just didn't care for the hype and glorification.
This week I listened to Sadler's original version and some others with different ears. Took me back to some of the cadences we used to sing. Then I saw these two ladies perform their rendition. I'm not laughing any more.
