C minor in Beethoven's time was for drama and darkness … what really strikes me is that given the treatment of the key and symphonic language, protection against the negativity in death is clearly established in the 1st and 2nd mobements of this symphony 🙂 the orchestration of the lyrical themes jmove me to a place of solace, unconditional warmth
